How can technology and packaging provide better engagement for your brand?

Here at Signet we are always pushing boundaries, looking at what developments there are in the Drinks industry and monitoring trends in other industries to influence what we predict will shape the future of the Drinks industry.

 

One of the latest trends is how technology is being utilised more in everyday life. With the reach of NFC (Near Field Communication) products growing and QR codes being used on products from vouchers, to signs to cakes, modern life is becoming more tied in to technology than it ever has been. We recently attended an event where we showcased a “technology bottle” and a business card (below) that had a QR code and an NFC chip behind the label on the bottle. Everyone at the event was enthusiastic to see how this technology worked and it got us thinking… how can we harness this technology to benefit you?

With the technology that is currently available to us, there are few limitations. Both NFC and QR codes are able to redirect the scanner to any URL. This URL can be a web page with special information, it can be a link to the brand story, it can link to an app for customers to download, it can be a link to promotions, or other brands. At Signet we are looking at how the advancements in technology can be applied for your benefit and how it can save you cost to other areas of your business.
